Membership Terms & Conditions
Welcome to the Collective! This space exists because of our shared belief in repair, reuse, and community. To keep it safe, welcoming, and functional for everyone, all members and guests agree to the following terms:
1. Membership & Guest Passes
- Memberships are non-transferable and tied to the individual member.
- All memberships and packages are valid only on posted open days, which may vary week to week as we continue to grow.
- Once you check in, that counts as a full day of use — whether you stay one hour or five.
- Partnered events hosted in the space do not count against your membership days.
- All members and visitors must check in upon arrival to help us maintain a safe and supportive community space.
- Access to the space, events, and resources is determined by your membership level.
2. Hours of Operation
- Our regular hours are listed on our website and may change at any time.
- After-hours access is not included with membership and is only available upon special request.
3. Code of Conduct
- Treat fellow members, staff, and guests with respect.
- Keep noise reasonable. Long calls, FaceTimes, or meetings should take place in designated areas. Music requires headphones.
- Clean up after yourself. If you notice a mess, let us know.
- Respect that this is a shared space — kindness and collaboration are expected.
4. Tool Library & Workshop Use
- Tools and equipment must remain in the building at all times.
- Members are responsible for safe and appropriate use of all tools.
- No long-term borrowing or personal “claiming” of shared tools.
- Report any damage, breakage, or safety issues immediately.
- Orientation or training may be required for certain tools and machines.
5. Safety & Liability
- All members and guests use the space and equipment at their own risk.
- Closed-toe shoes and appropriate attire are required in workshop areas.
- Children and minors must also have a membership unless they are only stopping in briefly with a parent/guardian.
- Alcohol is only permitted at sanctioned events.
6. Food & Drink
- Food and drink are allowed in designated areas, including workshop spaces — please use care around tools and materials.
- No overnight food or drink storage.
7. Storage & Personal Belongings
- At this time, no lockers or cubbies are available.
- Do not leave personal items overnight.
- The Collective is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings.
8. Events & Community Access
- Collective-hosted community talks are open to all membership levels.
- Zero Waste–hosted events may be included free depending on membership level.
- Other events (member-led or private rentals) may require tickets. Member discounts may apply.
- Members will be notified in advance if areas of the space are closed for private events.
9. Payments & Renewals
- Membership fees auto-renew unless canceled in writing.
- Membership may be suspended or revoked at any time for violations of these terms.
10. Media & Marketing
- By being in this space, members and guests consent to photography and video that may be used for marketing, social media, or partner promotions.
11. Sustainability & Shared Responsibility
- Please follow our zero-waste practices: sort waste properly, reuse supplies thoughtfully, and respect the mission of the space.
- Parking is the responsibility of each member and guest.
- This is a community: support one another, share knowledge, and help create a positive experience for all.
