Backed by 18 Years of Community Impact

Zero Waste San Diego has been San Diego’s leading zero waste and sustainability advocacy organization since 2007.

When you join The Collective, you’re becoming part of a movement that’s been increasing conscious consumption habits in communities across San Diego for nearly two decades.

Not at all! Our volunteers are available to help people at every skill level. We believe anyone can learn repair skills with proper guidance.

Electronics, clothing, bikes, small appliances, household items, and more. If you’re unsure about a specific project, ask during your tour! We inventory the types of items members wish to repair so that we can pair a knowledgeable volunteer with the job.

While volunteers and experts do their best to repair items, sometimes an item is simply not repairable to its original form or function. It could be that the item was designed by the manufacturer to be obsolete or irreparable. This presents us with learning opportunities on what it means to consume with thoughtfulness, or think before we buy.

Yes! We have a dedicated bike repair station in downtown San Diego with tools and workspace for maintenance and repairs. Our volunteers can guide you through everything from basic tune-ups to more complex fixes.
