Zero Waste San Diego and the San Diego Chapter of the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA) and The County Integrated Waste Management Technical and Citizens Advisory Committees are hosting the 2st ANNUAL ZERO WASTE SYMPOSIUM: Steps Towards a Sustainable Future, on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. The event will be held from 8:30am am to 4:30 p.m. in the Campus Center Hearing Room (next to the Campus Center Café) at the County of San Diego, County Operations Center at 5500-5570 Overland Avenue, San Diego, California 92123.
The California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA, founded 1974) is California’s state-wide recycling association. It is the oldest and one of the largest non-profit recycling organizations in the United States. CRRA continues as a strong voice for waste reduction and recycling. Zero Waste San Diego was organized to advocate Zero Waste as a local and regional goal. As a sponsor you demonstrate the commitment of your company or organization in addressing challenges of sustainability, best resource use and environmental protections.
The Symposium consists of a rapid-fire format of ten minute presentations by industry experts to ensure that a wide and comprehensive array of Zero Waste topics will be covered, including Zero Waste principles, source reduction and reuse strategies, policy developments and working from the top down, managing edible and compostable discards, and lots of success stories from public and private sector resource managers well on their way towards a goal of Zero Waste and 341 compliance.

Registration is $50 in advance for the general public, $40 for CRRA members and governmental employees, $20 for students and non-profit representatives, and $15 for students who donate an article of clothing to Goodwill at the door.
Advanced registration is encouraged, as all rates will increase $10 for onsite registration. A Zero Waste lunch will be served and is included in the price of admission.
